在融合课程中探索自然之美INTERGRATION WEEK IN YINGHE

连元英禾融合课程(YINGHE Intergration Curriculum)是我校的重要特色课程,该课程是针对小学及初中阶段学生实施的中西融合课程。课程采用PBLProject-BasedLearning)项目式学习模式,除了英语能力之外,也非常注重基础学科学习及包括传统文化、科学、音、体、美等多重素质培养。


The YINGHE Intergration Curriculum is one of the teaching features of Yinghe Bilingual School. Aimedat students from G1-G9, it combines a traditional Chinese and Western curriculum.PBLProject-BasedLearningisthe basic learning model of the curriculum. English ability as well as basicsubjects (traditional culture, science, music, painting, and PE) are all highlightedin the curriculum.


接触自然,让学生探索和领略自然之美,是此次连元英禾融合课程的主要目的,也受到了学生和家长们的一致欢迎。

Touchingexploring and appreciating the beauty of natureis the core of the intergration curriculum and also highly welcomed by both studentsand parents.


那么,融合课程是怎样开展的呢?

So, how is the intergration curriculum carried out?


此次融合课程应景当下的秋季,以“触摸—思考—呈现”为设计思路,引导孩子探究自然自我之间的关系,在实践中体验自然、感知自然、外化和呈现自己心中的自然。

This theme begins with the natural world during the season of Autumn to guide our studentsto explore the relationships among nature and self, followed by further practiceinto the related curricular representations.


BEGINNING

开篇:【树叶采集】Leaf Collecting

学校组织学生走出教室,走进大自然,采集目标任务卡上的秋天的落叶,采集的过程既培养了孩子观察对比的能力,又让孩子们与秋天的大自然建立了情感链接。

The school organizedthe Fall Field Trip to encourage students to go back to nature. It was certainlyan exciting journey during which students were able to rebuild their emotionalconnection with nature. Meanwhile, a leaf collection task also cultivated theirabilities of observation and comparison. That’s the beginning of our intergration curriculum.

【吟诵秋天】Chanting the Fall

孩子们齐声朗诵《秋天在歌唱》,在诗歌、美文中,体会文学世界秋天的神韵。

Studentschanted the poem,“Autumn is singing”, and felt the charm of autumn.

【细数秋天】Counting the Fall

在有关秋天的图画故事中,孩子们学会用数学思维来解决实际问题。

In graphicstories about autumn, children learned to use mathematical thinking to solve practical problems.

COME AND EXPLORE

“探索”是这一单元的主线,场景遍布在校园的各个角落,培养了学生的观察能力、语言表达能力与表演能力。

"Exploration"is the main line of this unit. The scenes are found in every corner of the campus. This unit cultivates students' abilities of observation, language expression and representation.


【动感秋天】RUNRUNRUN

秋天中,怎么能够没有你奔跑的身影?

在体育课上,通过完成“寻宝”任务、击中稻草人等运动项目,孩子们体会到“达成目标,收获秋天”的心理满足感。

In the PEclass, through completing the "treasure hunt" task and hitting the scarecrow, students experienced the psychological satisfaction of"achieving goals” in the harvest atmosphere.

【探寻秋天】Tasting and Presenting

PSHE课程单元孩子们在食物的品尝中,知晓四季孕育的代表性食物,感恩自然,学会珍惜。英语课堂利用实物、工具和智慧黑板中的放大镜,跟着主人公Pam the Panda来寻找秋天的元素。戏剧表演巧妙地融合在课程中,将整个单元完美收尾。

Students learned the representative food of four seasons by tasting foods in PSHE class.Drama performance was highly integrated into the curriculum, in which students followed “Pam the Panda” to find the elements of autumn with various tools and amagnifying glass. The drama performance brought the entire unit to a perfectending.

SCIENTIFIC & MAGICAL THINGS

充满魔幻,穿越时空,孩子们学会如何打破常规思维,表现自我情感、感悟生活。

This unit isfull of magic. It teaches students how to break the conventional thinking and encourage students to express their emotions and gain a sense of the truemeaning of life.


【提问秋天】Reconstructing Seasons

结合植物生长的自然规律,科学课上开展了对“叶子”的时空重塑。随后STEM课程用3D打印笔画出孩子们心中最美的树叶。原来有些树叶不会因为季节的交替变黄,秋天真美好!

Based on the natural laws of plant growth, the spatiotemporal remodeling of"leaves" was carried out in the STEM class. Students used 3D printingto draw the most beautiful leaves in their hearts and these leaves will neverfall down from trees and never turn yellow in autumn. What magic!

【聆听秋天】Embracingthe Lovely Fall

你在秋天的小树林里,聆听过踩树叶的声音吗?

孩子们在充满魔法的音乐课感受小树叶的Falling down,感受不同歌曲速度带来的不同情绪变化,拿着绚丽多彩的小树叶一起舞动。原来落叶并不是生命的终结,而是新生的象征。

Students experienced the ‘Falling down’ of leaves and emotional changes brought about by different rhythms in an enchantingmusic class. Fallen leaves are not the end of life, but a symbol of rebirth.

【描绘秋天】Paintingthe Fall in My Eyes

美术课上,孩子们描绘的一幅幅树叶彩绘和拓印,这些树叶来自音乐课的“神秘小树林”。孩子们调动了所有自己能想到的表现方式,展现自己对自然和生活的热爱。

The final presentationat the end of the curriculum was a series of student paintings which showed theirlove for nature and life.

美好的融合课程并没有在课程结束后就戛然而止,它更多地是教会了孩子们如何在实践中发现、探寻自然,如何用自己的方式去解决问题,表达情感。

The intergration week did not come to an end after the courses. Instead, it taught students how to discover and explore nature in practice and inspired them to solve problemsand express emotions in their own way.
